Boy meets girl.
Boy falls hard for girl.
Girl turns out to be possessed homicidal freak.

The story has 2 main characters’ point of view, Jade and Connor. Jade, a girl who tried to remember her past. Connor, a boy who tried to forget. Jade knew there is something wrong with her. She has no heartbeat. She lost consciousness from time to time. When she woke up, there was always news about a girl got killed. Connor is an unpopular boy in his school. Strangely, Jade chose to be his friend and he found himself falling for Jade. Connor was Jade’s only hope to help her overcome the darkness and coldness inside her before they taken a grip on her.

This book is kind of hard to review. The first chapters were confusing me. There was no story connection between those chapters. Out of my confusion, this book was like had a magnet that attracted me to keep reading. After some chapters, finally everything made sense. I started to understand the story and became more and more attracted to it.

What I really like about this book is the emotion. It really passed to the readers through different characters. I could really feel Jade’s anxiety, phobia, her thirst of blood and sucked in her killer mode. In the other hand, I could feel Connor’s and Nanan’s love for her, Connor’s mother hollowness, longing for her husband. The emotion was just great.

This is a perfect dark paranormal book for me. So many creepy and evil scenes. There was always darkness in each chapter and that made me keep turning the page. There was a development of Jade and Connor’s relationship which took an important role near the end of the story. I must say the ending was so unexpected and hanging. I can’t wait to read the second book.

My rating : 4.5/5
